High North AiR Network: AiR Barents 2016-2017

High North AiR Network: AIR Barents is a three-year program for professional artists,curators, art critic and researchers in the visual arts field in North-Norway and Northwest-Russia. The project aims to strengthen Norwegian-Russian art network and encourage production of art works in the Barents region. The important goal for the A‐i‐R Barents is to establish a long-term, functional network of artists, art organizations and project partners.

High North AiR Network: AIR Barents continues in 2016 with the kind support from BarentsKult, Arts Council Norway,  and project partners.

AIR Barents welcomes its new partners: Longyearbyen AiR- Galleri Svalbard, Vykhod Media Center in Petrozavodsk; Vadsø kunstforening and NCCA Art Residence in Kronstadt (National Centre for Contemporary Arts, North-Western Branch).

AIR Barents will in its the final year organize residencies, curated exhibitions, workshops, seminars and videoprogram in North-Norway (Nordland, Troms, Finnmark and Svalbard), and Northwest-Russia (Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Karelia and St Petersburg).

High North AiR Network: AIR Barents will continue to collaborate with local and regional art organizations in North-Norway and Northwest-Russia.
We would like to thank artists, curators, regional and local coordinators, residency partners, Arts Council Norway ( Kulturrådet), BarentsKult ( The Norwegian Barents Secretariate), Troms County Council, Nordland County Council, Finnmark County Council, Ministry of culture of the Arkhangelsk region, Committee of Culture and Arts of the Murmansk Region, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia for participating and supporting the project.
